The official Nintendo Wii controller is shaped like a remote control and is the main way of playing games on the Nintendo Wii games console.
The great thing about the Wii remote is that is has motion sensing capabilities and so where ever you move the remote will be represented in the game you are currently playing. So for a golf swing you actually swing the remote like a golf club or for sword fighting you wave the remote around like a sword and this all adds a huge amount of realism and fun to your games.
The Nintendo Wii games console comes with one remote and so you only need to buy others if you wish to play multi-player games. The Wii controller has also been designed with simplicity in mind and so even people that have not played a games console before should feel comfortable using it (after all it is shaped like a remote control because almost everyone is used to using them).
