Fun
This is what the Nintendo Wii games console is all about because when Nintendo designed the Wii console they knew they had to offer something revolutionary to compete with the Sony and Microsoft video games consoles. And they came up with some very clever features which make the Nintendo Wii games console so much fun which include motion sensitive controllers and revolutionary multi-player options.

Swing That Controller
It is the motion sensitive controllers that make the Wii what it is though. The Wii can detect the smallest movements of the wireless controller and you simply move the wireless controller to create movement in your video game. So for a golf swing you literally swing your Wii controller like a golf club or for a sword fighting game you wave your Wii controller around just like a sword and this creates an incredible amount of fun and entertainment (for those playing and those watching!). The Wii controller is shaped like a television remote control and has buttons and a D-pad on it so that you can use buttons as well as the movement of the controller, it also has other fun features such as a force feedback rumble and even a speaker so that sound effects can be delivered to your exact location.

There is one other part of the controller which is called the Nunchuck which is used for games that need an analogue stick and triggers and there is even a classic controller available that is just like the controllers of yesteryear.

Play Together
The multi-player capabilities of the Nintendo Wii console are also very impressive. The nature of the games with motion sensitive controllers is just ideal for multi-player gaming, can you imagine sword fighting, boxing, tennis, first person shooting and any number of other games with four people frantically trying to come out on top? And as well as that the Wii video games console has excellent connectivity with a wi-fi connection so that you can easily connect the Wii games console to your broadband connection and play with gamers the world over.

The actual word 'Wii' was thought up in part because the two 'i' characters together look like two people stood together and the word Wii is also very easy to pronounce in almost any language and so the whole ethos of the Nintendo Wii console is to get together and have lots of fun.

A Blast From The Past
Nintendo are also very conscious that their fans have lots of games from their old video games systems and so (very impressively) the Nintendo Wii console can play any video game from any of the old Nintendo video games consoles. The media bay on the Wii can take Wii and Gamecube games and the other older games are downloadable from the Wii online service and so if classic games are your thing then the Wii is certainly for you.

More Fun
As well as all of the above there are also other cool features packed into the Wii which (incredibly) make it even more fun to use and play. You can create caricatured portraits of yourself and other players and actually use them in the games which is just brilliant and the Wii also has a full digital photo editing suite so that you can load your digital photos onto the Wii and edit them with all manner of cool effects and then display them on your television. And the Wii games console also has great Internet connectivity which allows you to browse the web with the Opera web browser and there are also Wii channels that offer up to the minute news and weather reports. It even has a message board built in so that you can leave notes for other players and this can even send notes to people that are not at home via the Internet or mobile phone.

Choice
The big decision when you buy a video games console today is whether you want the fun and ingenuity of the Nintendo Wii console or the high definition and greater computing power of the games consoles offered by Sony and Microsoft. The Wii does not have the graphics or raw power that those consoles have but offers a huge amount more when it comes to something different and is in our opinion a much more fun and entertaining video games console.
